THE BRAND
Mare Nostrum was founded in Montpellier, in the heart of the south of France, under the direction of its creator, Lisa Dubois. This women's swimwear brand doesn't just beautify; it celebrates the diversity of female body shapes. Inspired by bold and colorful designs, Mare Nostrum champions the idea that every woman has the right to reveal or not reveal her body, as she wishes, and above all, to forge her own path in life. Our mission goes beyond aesthetics: we aspire to give women the confidence they need to fully blossom in their own skin as soon as they put on our swimsuits.
Why MARE NOSTRUM?
To pay homage to the Latin roots of France and Spain, the two origins of our founder, Mare Nostrum was chosen as the name. Meaning "Our Sea" in Latin, it evokes the Mediterranean Sea, which borders the lands of Montpellier, where our brand was born. This choice also reflects our commitment to environmental protection: our swimsuits are made from recycled materials, thus embodying our desire to preserve our seas and oceans.
